So … I LOVE J Cole’s “Can’t Get Enough” … Not just because he’s witty. But because as a baby Liberian kholi … I heard the sample song at SOOOOOO many parties!
Today … I finally realized it IS West African … but not Liberian. Balla et ses Balladins are actually a group from Guinea. But WHEREVER they’re from … the song is excellent! It’s a love song. Sung by the 2 main vocalists of the group, Manfila “Soba” Kanté and Emile Soumah, it’s the “poignant love story of a relationship where trust and confidence have disappeared.”
